If you are looking for solitude, not to be bothered by hosts and you do not wish to visit even briefly with your hosts, then this is the place for you. If you are looking for a B&B that does provide a lovely breakfast with a nice morning visit with your hosts, I would look elsewhere.

The Raineys did provide a lovely, comfortable home for our stay and the beds were comfortable. The decks provided a pleasant place to drink a hot cup of tea in the morning had there been tea available. The woods to the back and to the sides of the property were very pretty. There was a hot tub on the downstairs deck which guests can enjoy if they wish.

Great place

Great place for couples.

All of the bed and breakfasts we have visited in the past have been different in that a lovely breakfast was prepared for us usually consisting of a variety of breakfast foods cooked by our hosts. The general fare always included water, coffee, tea, and two choices of juice. Eggs over muffins with a slice of tomato and gently sprinkled with parmesan, freshly sliced fruit compotes, choice of cereal if you wish. Some have made delicious scones, or homemade biscuits. But, the best part of breakfast wherever we have stayed before the Rainey Day Resort, was the enjoyable time spent with our hosts as they breakfasted with us. We always learned enough about our hosts that we felt welcomed. And our hosts have usually been able to answer any questions we may have had about the area if we had lived there before, or if we were just visiting and needed information about how to get to key sites.

We recently had the opportunity to visit Mena, AK, and stay at the Rainey Day Resort bed and breakfast. This particular bed and breakfast was different than any other we have stayed at before. If you desire a stay similar to a hotel, this is the place for you. We briefly met the owner, Mr. Rainey, during our quick, but efficient tour of this home. Our breakfast consisted of Jimmy Dean saugage egg and cheese biscuits and breakfast for all was left in the fridge for us to heat in the microwave. There was coffee that we could make, too. No tea, juice, or fruit. We had the option of cooking for ourselves if we so desired, but no directions to a grocery store to buy what we wanted to cook. By morning, there was no breakfast left in the fridge as the other guests ate everything. So we breakfasted at a restaurant attached to a motel. I do not recall the name of the Motel/restaurant, but their breakfast was quite good. We never saw our hosts again after the tour, at which time we were instructed to not leave anything in the sink, to clean up after ourselves, and leave things tidy which my husband and I would have done anyway. There was a small basket in our room with 2 individual packages of cookies, 2 muffins, and 2 bottles of water which was nice.
